The Purge Anarchy is another action film written and directed by James DeMonaco in which it talks about the United States of America conducting purge in a few hours. Purge is an act in which people can commit any crimes legal as the start of the “Purging countdown”, but to the people who are purging should not use any gun or explosives higher than Class 4 or else the government will be able to detect it and shot them for disobeying the said law.

The dull sympathetic crime fantasy has undertaken audiences feel to be in envy, as the annual purge will began. 3 different stories of people brought to one, in order to survive this cruelness night in this year’s purge. The 1st story is all about Eva (Carmen Ejogo), an underprivileged citizen who works for their living, her daughter Cali ( Zoe Soul) was helping her to get a new job despite of Eva’s attitude not to do about it. Despite of his husband’s attitude who accepts the $100,000 payment in exchange to his life for they experience deprive and hunger. The 2nd story is all about two people, kind of in a relationship namely Shane (Zach Gilford) and Liz (Kiele Sanchez) which they are stuck in the purge night not noticing that they’re car got hijacked by a creepy man with masks who believed to be purging. The 3rd story was all about a man whose going to purge tonight to avenge someone he love so much. Unexpectedly, these different people with different stories brought up in purge night, and survive this year’s purge using the guy who will going to purge.

As the purge night started, these people barely survive the purge night, Eva and Cali who will be an “offering” to higher classes of people hardly got a way thanks to this mysterious guy who will purge. The couple namely Shane and Liz, was running as hard as they can for they were hunted by people who were paid refer as an offering to the purge execution of highly rank people. It really was a hell night for everywhere they go, death people can be seen in a very harshly way.

The setting was appropriate in place of “murdering scenery” which believed it was undergo in United States, a country of many population of people living there. Not that I am saying that U.S. was the great place to undergo Purge in reality, but rather this film takes the right location to undergo this kind of story plot. In every angle of the camera was executed satisfactory, because the focus of it was on every main character in the film, they’re emotionally frightened and alertness along with the blending of sound effects which makes the audiences shock for the unexpected burst of people along with their guns.

Some of the scene was really exhilarating as many rebellious acts of crime undergoes by the main characters in order to survive this vicious night. Without this unknown guy, they will not be able to survive it and they owe him a lot for his heroic acts. I love how the make-up of this film was brought by people behind this film, the actors was really good on expressing their frightening faces and the way they are attentively aware to the people who wants to kill them.

Yet this was really a nightmare if this film became reality, although crimes are legal it can be a negative and a positive effect to the people. To those people who want to express their anger and hatred, they can use this event as a great deal to express their anger ironically by killing or murdering someone they like. The government believed that conducting “purge” can decrease the crime counts for they are able to do it, on 12 hours of purge night every year. The negative effects of it was they didn’t value the rights of humanity, the right to live in a secure place, no doubt that if this Purge can be in reality basis, many people will be against it especially Catholics who valued human life for it was given by God.

I rated this film 9/10, awesome and horrifying at the same time. As a person who loves to watch horror and thriller films, every scenes always got me a Goosebumps and makes me more attentive to watch this film than any horror movie. Now that I found out that there will be a next part, I am really excited on how the director and the producers will evolve and how they will be able to come up with a good story plot better than this.
