Purge Election Year (2016): Haunted from the PAST motivates to a better CHANGE

The Purge Election Year is another action written and directed by James DeMonaco in which it talks about the United States of America conducting purge in a few hours. Purge is an act in which people can commit any crimes legal as the start of the “Purging countdown”, although this film differs from the 1st two series, it can be synthesize that anyone will not be protected hence everybody can do purging of whoever they want, even the president of the U.S.

This hell night of every year in the U.S. from the film entitled “Election year” it can be deduced that someone wants to win in an election in order to put an end on this EVIL night. The protagonist named Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell) as she experienced purge night was really horrible, watching your family tortured by someone else because of this thing called “purging”, a 12 hour legal crime actions that can be done by anyone who wish to purge.

What I noticed in this movie, 18 years after that horrifying experienced of Senator Roan, the unknown man from the last film was named Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo), 2 years after he stopped himself from purging to seek revenge on the death of his son, he worked now for Senator Roan as a security chief to ensure the Senator is safe from the upcoming purge night before election.

As usual the purge night was like “Halloween for Adults”, this films differs from the 1st two in the way that no citizen or group was bounded with special immunity in this year’s purge. Commencing the annual purge, sceneries of people were killed everywhere, covered with blood, stabbed and blown up pieces of it, I was get used to all these brutal stuffs and quite boring actually when you watched this film series from the first until now. Some people risks their lives to protect their establishment, as the new characters spawned namely Joe Dixon (Mykelti Williamson) owner of an establishment along with Markus (Joseph Julian Soria), Laney Rocker aka Pequeña Muerte which means “Little Death” (Betty Gabriel) as described in the film.

The main plot of this film was to survive this HELL night, although the film concerns to the survival of Senator Roan for she has a guts to put an end to this horrifying event every year. The purpose of Purge night was to cleanse their soul’s to save the country from economic ruin, slaughtering innocent lives in order to dismantle hatred and envy to be released in one night. Ironically, as a Catholic the lives of every person is important, for you can only live ones and thanks to God you have an opportunity to do what you want in your life span here on Earth.

Even though this film is only fiction fantasy, murdering someone is not really an excuse in order to let go hatred and envy, even though nobody is exempt to that feeling, it is our responsibility to stabilize ourselves, not to consume hatred and envy but to stay in control, breathe and talk it all out. Murdering is not the solution to deprived problems in the countries, NFFA (New Founding Fathers of America) people who supports this kind of activity were not a good leader for they disregard human rights to live.

As the movie progresses, this film has brought to more action and thrilling effect among audiences from the 1st two films in line to this series. Leo depriving his revenge two years ago, has led to more matured version of him, he did his job to protect the Senator until the Purge night ended. The film ended in a successful fair victory of Senator Roan from the Minister Edwidge Ownes (Kyle Secor) which makes me feel contented to what the ending of this film was undertaken.

I rated this film 9/10 such a really inspiring movie, for because of Senator Roan’s awful experience she stood up, motivates her to strive to win the Presidential Election in the United States, and put an end on this Purging event even though it is impossible for her to fight the NFFA assassinating her in that night. Every action sceneries was really good, awesome camera angles in every views taken in the audience perspectives was great. I hope that this film will inspire people, not just me but to the people who don’t know the positive effect of problems they encountered.
