Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince 2009: The UNTOLD secrets was REVEALED

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is another Sci Fi film and another continuation of the first 5 films of Harry Potter Series, in which it talks about a boy named, Harry Potter who he didn't know was a celebrity in the wizarding world. He was the only wizard that survives the killing curse of Lord Voldemort.

He was now 5th year along with his friends, Ron and Hermione, in which he was believed to be the “chosen one” who will save the wizarding world from Voldemort, the powerful dark wizard of all time. After the death of Sirius Black, Harry’s Godfather, and Harry’s character seem to be focus on fighting Voldemort itself, because of the prophecy given in the last film.

It may seem that this film was 10 years ago, the awesome editing stuffs were quite outstanding, like it can be compared to recent movies like the Justice League which it was released a year ago.

I like how Harry’s personalities became serious and mature compared to the 3rd and 4th film series. Despite of him, being a “chosen one” he humbles himself and be a model student to his other classmates.

Some of the unique plot that are different from the first 5 films is that there will be a new teacher in Potions, named Professor Horace Slughorn, college friend of Albus Dumbledore, the Headmaster of Hogwarts. And there will be new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, which is Professor Severus Snape, in which he taught Potions for 5 years from now. It was quite surprising that Professor Snape was given the job he wanted since he got in Hogwarts and ever body at school was shocked about it.

Unlike in the other first 5 films of this series, Harry who wants to be an Auror, despite of his grade in Potions did not meet the required grade, was able to obtain the subject in Potions. As you didn’t know Harry was always get a passing grade in Potions, but in their O.W.L.S (kind of a test that if you acquired the grade to the career you wanted, you will be able to get it when you graduated in a school) Harry did not meet the required grad to make his career possible. In Harry’s case, he wants to be an Auror, it is a member highly-trained, specialist officers within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Magic to investigate crimes to the Dark arts, more like a policeman or a detective in our society basis; but as I said his grade in Potions prevents him for reaching that career as they graduated in Hogwarts. So Harry was tasked to know Professor Slughorn and surprisingly, he reach his full potential in Potions, with the help of the unknown book of the Half Blood Prince.

Harry then was curious who the Half Blood Prince is and all of his works, because of that book, he was be able to make Potions easily than others. He was the only one who got the right substance whom Professor Slughorn wants, because of it he was given a Felix Felicis or Liquid Luck, whoever has it and drink it will find all endeavors succeed.

I also found it amusing about the relationship of Harry and Ginny, in the past films they may not seem to be “cared” from each other nor talk to one another. But in the beginning of the film it can be synthesize that Harry have feelings for Ginny but Ginny was not into him. Ron fined it disgraceful, when Ginny was snogging at his boyfriend in Hogsmeade, where students hang out in holidays. Yet the feelings Harry felt was true and undeniable, no matter how weird Ron it may perceived.

For some reason the feelings of Hermione to Ron was now showing, even though she find him dumb and stupid, she always care for Ron more than just friend. The time when Lavender, another Gryffindor student who is interested in Ron, give him Love potion to fell in love to her, was effective making Hermione jealous and experience pain. Hermione and Harry may seem to be “always together” but they share the same feelings to the one they love, and it hurts them so much if they see that their love ones was hurted. It can be applied to a simple ”puppy love”, it’s always between best friends, as they developed their relationships they seem to develop their feelings to each other. As for Hermione, she extends her level of feelings to Ron not as only as friends, but deeper.

As the film goes by, the actions whom Dumbledore planned was tend to be useful in the very end. Dumbledore wanted Harry to be “closed” to Professor Slughorn to obtain a memory, that memory will helped them to defeat Voldemort. Luckily using Felix Felicis, Harry managed to obtained that memory of Professor Slughorn and acquired a mission to find Hocruxes (are objects in which a person has concealed part of his soul, making him immortal, because for every soul he splits and hides that object it will be impossible to kill him personally for his soul was hidden from an objects).

Second, Draco seems a little be distant and secluded from others because of his mission. He used the furniture named “The Vanishing Cabinet” to be able to use it as a tool so that Death Eaters can enter Hogwarts safely without being spotted.

Third, the attempt of murdering Dumbledore as 2 students almost got killed for it was by the work of Draco Malfoy, for he was tasked by the Dark Lord to kill him to prove his worthiness being a “Death Eater” (followers of the Dark Lord).

And Lastly, Professor Snape was the Half Blood Prince after all, his capabilities in Potions can be seen in his history having a codename of “Half Blood Prince” when he was a student in Hogwarts.

I rated this movie 8/10 not because it’s not great but because this film did not interested me for some reasons. It leads me so many questions like: What will happen to Hogwarts since Dumbledore was now dead? Who will be appointed as the Headmaster? Will Harry be able to survive another year without Dumbledore, who he believed that he was the greatest wizard of all time? Will Harry and his friends be able to find all Hocruxes? It’s really thrilling as this film gets better and better, and the people who exert their effort especially for the special effects when it comes in magic was awesome and makes it realistic as ever. I expect that this movie will progresses and also the characters will be able to portray what kind of emotion that is needed in every scene of the movie.

I suggest for more developed cameras that will be able to shot every scene in every angle in a specific character that is in need to focus. And I suggest that the sound effects that they will add will be suitable to a specific scene that is needed. I expect so much about the next film, and I hope the fight scenes will be good as ever.
