DISCLAIMER: All that I stated there is just my opinion and it also contains SPOILERS to the actual scenes of the movie. So BEWARE to those who don't want to be SPOIL in this movie, and to those who watched this movie, Be FREE to READ it.

Divergent is an action adventure movie based on Veronica Roth’s novel and directed by Neil Burger, that talks about choosing oneself based on their human characteristics and values to 5 factions namely; Dauntless a group consists of truly warriors, soldiers who will protect the city (mark of a brave), Amity people who devoted for peace, kindness, and harmony, they are also who farm foods in the society (the peaceful), Erudite (the intelligent) these are people who knows-it-all from facts to history; Abnegation (the selfless) consist of people who are kind enough to help faction-less (people who don’t belong to any 5 of the factions); and Candor (the honest) people who value honesty and order, sworn to tell the truth without hesitation. The main protagonist of this story was Beatrice Prior, has a perfect family in Abnegation, living with his brother Caleb Prior and her parents.

As the film progresses, Beatrice in his inconclusive test result in the aptitude test (a test in which you will determine your faction, although it can be your basis of your decision or not) leads her to choose Dauntless because she wants it to. Dauntless with a fierce bravery, testing all the initiatives’ fearlessness especially when dealing problems to protect the society at any cost.

It was so intense, especially the trainings executed every day to toughen-up their skills and body to be ready when war was unexpectedly will happen. Must be intimidating, not knowing what is your purpose in life, which society will you able to fit, and the hard part is you’re like a robot in which people dictates what will you going to do. Beatrice, not knowingly a “Divergent”, a person who can possess 2 or more qualities among the 5 factions, yet you can choose whatever you wanted but being “Divergent” can be powerful in a way that can destroy ones stability of peace in their society. They are threats, in which Erudite believed to be a “blemish” in this world because they’re different and disgusted by Erudite who believed to value knowledge and logic, deemed to be the superior of all factions.

Beatrice passed the 1st test, moving on to the next level of training, but Four (the instructor) has some kind of feelings and concern to Tris (Beatrice’s nickname) after all even though she was stiff and all regardless on her Abnegation-born, she proved that she can be a true Dauntless. That’s when the 2nd part of the training began, although Beatrice was good at dealing with her fears, the problem is her identity being a “divergent” will be able to discover, and killed her in that case. So four trained her by seeing what things she should observe when dealing her own fears, he let her see his 4 fears, the fear of heights, the fear of confinement, fear of killing innocent people, and fear of him got beaten by his father. That’s why his name was Four, and his legal name was Tobias Ethon, he was burden of that name for the suffering he felt when he was young.

Jeanne, the leader of Erudite, after the pass examiners of Dauntless, she soon put a serum on them, detaining people in Abnegation because they’re the ones who dismantle the rules and soon she will overthrow in that position because of them. Jeanne was really intelligent, every move were planned, inputted the serum to all the Dauntless and became a robotic person that only values her command, except for Tris and Four because they are divergent.

Many lives was spent including Tris’ parents, Will Tris’ friend, and some of the dauntless soldiers who didn’t know they killed many Abnegation. The plot twist was really incredible, Tris’ bright idea, injecting the serum to Jeanne in order to corrupt the system so that the Dauntless soldiers will became free again. Tris as she was a threat, fled with Caleb, Four and Four’s dad, and the story ended with many questions in my head.

I rated this film 10/10 because it was really awesome, I never knew a story like this can inspire people, to find out who they truly are, and accepting who they’re meant to be. Even though Tris is a threat, she fights for her life, accepting that she is a divergent, totally different from other factions or to be specific, she is a combination of all factions all together based on his personalities. So the question is, thus this movie will have a part 2? What are the other factions look like? What exactly the place they will be able to go since Jeanne handled all the factions secured? I hope that this film will have a series on it, although I didn’t know or read the actual book, but I think audience will be able to learn something from this film.
