Coco 2017 is another Disney film in which the story revolves on a boy named, Miguel who loves music so much but unable to exposed his abilities because of family matters. Rivera, Miguel’s Surname, was known to be a non-music lover because of their family matters concerning to it.

The beginning of the story starts with a narration of the Rivera Family, the 1st ancestor who decided to be not able to sing nor play instruments ever again. So the story of great- great-grandparents of Miguel starts when his great- great-grandpa which is still “unknown” left his family to pursue his dreams to be a musician. Miguel’s great- great-grandma, named Imelda, decided to not let the music consumed her grand-sons and daughters so they get rid of this “music and musical instruments” until this generation.

Miguel who loves the music of “Ernesto de la Cruz” found out that he was his great- great-grandpa; he decided to retrace his steps and play his guitar because her grandma found out that he was playing music using a guitar, which is banned in their family. The way I look at it, Miguel somewhat enters the “world of the dead” were people like skeletons were literally “alive” somehow. Even though it is impossible that a living person can enter this world, because it is exclusive for the “dead”.
So this movie was kinda based on the important holiday that we should celebrate about. It’s the day of honoring your love ones who died and from the looks of it the only way ghosts cross the living world is to be able to have his own picture posted in frame with their favorite food. That’s ironically required to the ghosts in order they can be in their love ones again for just one day. For I think this move was based on the cultures of Mexicans on how they honor the dead in this holiday, which is the main theme of the story.

The conflict of the story starts when his family find out that he was here, which he was not supposed to be. From the moment they see him, they wanted to send him back before sunrise or else he will be fully change into a ghost from now on. The blessing was the conflict of this film, the blessing should be given by her great- great-grandma along with some kind of request that Miguel should do. One of it was not to play music ever again, well Miguel hesitated to accept that blessing for he wants his great- great-grandpa to be to be the one to give the blessing. So he runaway until somebody named Hector help him to get to his great- great-grandpa in one condition, after he received the blessing he will immediately go back to the living world, place his picture because no relative of his remembers him before he literally fade. There is this “fading effect” when a certain person from the dead was forgotten for so long, they tendency to disappear in smoke, which Hector believes the ultimate death.
So many scenes of Miguel and Hector being together, and the time comes when Ernesto de la Cruz, which Miguel thinks his great- great-grandpa, was about to give the blessing. Hector was there, angry of what his friend done to him, copy all of his songs and most of it murder him.
He was the responsible of Hector’s death for a simple situation that Hector wants to be in his family again. From the time it come, he poison him with a last shot of a drink and after that no one was ever known of him.
So plot twists in the story includes, Miguel’s grandma’s reason for banning her family ever again about the music because of what she experience to her husband for just leaving in order to reach his dreams and not knowing how she felt after his decision. Second, Ernesto de la Cruz was somewhat the antagonist of this film, not letting Miguel to give his blessing until sunrise for the reason to get rid of Hector in the world of dead in order to keep his crimes on him. Third, Hector was the great- great-grandpa of Miguel after he was about to fade. Fourth, Dante a dog in the living world who came along with Miguel, was his spirit animal after all. Fifth, the reason why “Coco” was the title of this film because she is the reason why all of this happen. She was Hector’s inspiration of composing songs to sing Ernesto de la Cruz. And for that reason, Ernesto became famous about it in order to make him famous, that’s the reason Miguel love him because of the awesome songs and the way he sang it. So Coco was also the reason to make this story possible, what a great was to inspire others to show them what they’re truly are.

I rated this movie 9/10, some of the words in Spanish which the producers scripted it, for me was inappropriate because to those people who doesn’t know about those words would think that it has another meaning. The audiences didn’t know of those words was not bas/foul words, unless they translated it so that audiences, like me will understand. The plot was extraordinary, never knew this kind of story about family can learn so much about it. To those who didn’t watch this movie, I recommend you to watch it. Don’t mind the animation and the graphics, mind the plot and the lesson what the producers want to give us after you watch this film. “Family comes first”, the statement whom Miguel said stayed in my mind. Family should come first before anything, I can relate to people who spend their time to their friends rather their family. It made me realize that Family should be the most important thing in the world, because your luck you have your family who will always guide you, help you, and forgive you no matter how many mistakes you have done.
I almost forgot the last scene was for me, funny in the fact that Ernesto de la Cruz has a sign of “Forget you” while Hector has a sign of “Remember me”. For me it’s funny, ironically speaking and great job Disney for making this movie as great as ever.
