Paper Towns is a teenage romantic-mystery film directed by Jake Schreier from another creative works of John Green. Started on Quentin (Nat Wolff), a senior high boy found out that the miracle on his life was Margo, a girl obsessed from clues and mystery-solving stuffs.

Beginning of the film, Quentin's story revolves on the deeper connection between him and Margo in their relationship as friends. It started when they were young, they started to hang-out together, doing stuffs they like until one night, and Margo’s obsession on solving mysterious stuff leads them to isolate their relationship together preceding not even talk to each other ever since.

The way I perceived it Quentin’s love for Margo is undeniable for one night, he experienced the most memorable day in his life, spending time with Margo. Unexpectedly, Margo wants Quentin to be a part of her vengeance pranking her friends for the pain she experienced from them. No wonder Quentin (even though being a safe-kid, dismayed those things) he enjoyed it with his all-time lover-friend and hoping that they’re friendship will soon regain to its stability from before.

After that scene, Margo disappeared without a trace causing Quentin to be miserable about it, yet he was concerned to what really happened to her, and find out weird clues for he believe that it was Margo who leave it on purpose, a way that only Q can understand. In his search, I noticed that Q forget everything he love for the sake of Margo, his love for her cannot be measure in some algorithmic way for a man who love a girl this much is really HARD to find nowadays. He forget his dream, even do cutting classes to spend his time to find Margo, which is really sweet and disappointing at the same time. Sweet, because he love Margo so much and willing to sacrifice everything for her sake and disappointing as I perceived it for he was busy searching her, he let his friends down and focuses on one thing “TO FIND MARGO”.

Although some random romantic scenes between Q’s best friend, Radar and his girlfriend along with Ben and his long-dying wish to prom date Lacey before their graduation day on their road trip to find Margo. I think why John Green’s novel entitled “Paper Towns” because of the experienced Q has taught him in which the “miracle” he felt for Margo, was not the miracle he was looking for. But to his best friends whom always there watching his back even though he was rude at them, stubbornly finding Margo even though she did not returned in the hour they were looking for. Yet the “Paper town” was a real location in the film but without it, Q will not realize that his miracle was not love for Margo, but the relationship he felt from his best friends.

Never knew that this film shows many symbolic meanings, hoping that audiences get a glimpse of its teachings, whereas I learned that the miracle you expected to be was not always right, for it was a miracle that God can gave us in order to show us who we truly are and being a person whom he wants us too. I rated this movie 9/10 although I never read the actual book, I learned so many things in which the author speaks to what he perceives about miracles in life. I think this film lacks of sound effects, which makes the audiences consumed with boredom, though the way they shoot every angle in every scene was great, and it was really worth to watch to those people who don’t know their meaning purpose in life.
